COMMERCIAL TRUCK DOT INSPECTIONS

COMMERCIAL TRUCK AND TRAILER INSPECTIONS ARE PART OF A COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires that a list of specific components on all commercial motor vehicles be inspected at least every 12 months, sometimes more frequently in certain cases.  The inspections can be done at any time, but at least once a year.  As a client of Managed Mobile, we will make your DOT Safety inspections predictable, planned, and productive.

Managed Mobile conducts comprehensive DOT commercial truck and trailer inspections for compliance with regulatory requirements.  A DOT Safety Inspection is a bumper to bumper vehicle inspection of all major system components on a truck or trailer and identifies any worn or defective components.  These system components include:

Engine Components and Accessories
Cab, Safety Equipment, Registration
Suspension, Steering, Front End
Drive Train
Wheels, Hubs, Axles
Brake Components and Braking System
Frame and Support
Truck or Trailer Body
Lighting and Electrical
Tire Condition and Inflation

WE MAKE TRUCK INSPECTIONS PRODUCTIVE

When you become a Managed Mobile client, we will proactively monitor and track all DOT inspections for you.  We deploy extensive enterprise asset maintenance management software that taps into Vehicle Maintenance Repair Standard (VMRS) coding.  Proactive computer tracking ensures that every required DOT Safety Inspection for each fleet unit is completed, right down to the last detail.

But we do more than just watch schedules.  A quality DOT Safety Inspection will often identify needed repairs that require pro-active follow up and scheduling of repair write ups.  Routine repairs include issues, defects, and worn components noted during our DOT vehicle safety inspections or oil change and lubrication services.  Managed Mobile performs heavy-duty truck repair on all major vehicle systems such as engine, transmission, clutch, drive-line, differential, suspension, steering, axle/wheel end/hub, brakes, steering, electrical and electronic, air conditioning (HVAC), PTO, lift gate, and more.

Managed Mobile’s truck inspection team has extensive training that includes specific in-house technical briefs and updates, OEM and industry certification, and up-to-date DOT Safety Inspection requirements.  With all that training, our technicians ensure commercial truck and trailer DOT inspections are performed correctly, according to FMCSA standards and requirements, and as a productive part of your ongoing preventative maintenance program.  Regularly scheduled DOT safety inspections are a big part of keeping your fleet safe, compliant, and reliable.

ON-SITE AND ON YOUR SCHEDULE

Managed Mobile technicians will complete all DOT safety inspections and any preventative maintenance on-site wherever your vehicles are parked.  We regularly do this with a wide range of commercial fleet vehicles that include light duty Ford and Chevy pick-up trucks and vans and medium and heavy-duty trucks like Isuzu, Hino, Mitsubishi, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Volvo and International trucks and tractors.

We also schedule DOT Safety Inspections and preventative maintenance for your fleet during your fleet’s down time, when your business isn’t using the vehicles.  We’ll schedule truck and trailer inspections from early morning (6AM) to late afternoon/evenings during weekdays and during the day on Saturdays.  We can create a service scheduling window to accommodate virtually any client’s regular schedule.  Our client’s love the way we schedule because it allows them to keep their trucks on the road during business hours.

DO IT ALL WITH A FLEET SERVICE PLAN (FSP)

All the required commercial truck and trailer safety inspections for your fleet are identified in a Fleet Service Plan™ (FSP).  A FSP is your path to a safe, compliant, reliable fleet. The FSP is a customized program which matches managed maintenance services according to the use and application of your vehicles and the cost parameters of your budget.  A critical component in every successful FSP is DOT Safety Inspections.  Once we craft an FSP for your fleet, Managed Mobile fleet professionals manage and track your commercial vehicle inspections to help ensure they are performed on time, every time.

In addition to DOT Safety Inspections, Preventative Maintenance (PM) for your fleet may include:
